Stirling’s Verdant Development Reaches the Top

On Wednesday 21st November, we celebrated a momentous milestone, the ‘topping out’ of the uppermost floor at Verdant Perth.
The onsite ceremony was officiated by Stirling Capital’s Managing Director Luke Reinecke and Director Sales & Marketing Daniel-Paul Filippi, Deputy Commissioner for City of Perth Gaye McMath, MJA Design Director Jimmy Thompson and BGC Senior Contracts Manager Chris Spooner. We were also joined by the tremendous team of contractors and consultants involved in bringing this project to life.
The practice of ‘topping out’ a new building can be traced to the ancient Scandinavian religious rite of placing a tree atop a new building to appease the tree-dwelling spirits displaced during its construction. As the tradition has progressed over time, an evergreen tree placed at the building’s highest point symbolises positivity, continued growth, safety and good luck for future residents.
Stirling Capital’s commitment to the redevelopment and revitalisation of the Stirling Street precinct has been unwavering. With ‘The Boulevard’, Perth’s first purpose-built student accommodation building, completing at the end of this year and Verdant set to welcome its first residents in April 2019, Stirling Street will soon be Perth’s newest urban village.
